Angioplasty
An angiogram is a test to look at your heart’s arteries and how well it pumps. The test is done in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Sometimes, if the cardiologist finds certain kinds of blockages, they may recommend having an angioplasty (also known as a percutaneous coronary intervention or PCI) right away, that same visit. This procedure helps to open blocked arteries, so that the heart muscle can get the blood it needs.
