Clinical Nurse Specialist, Adult Congenital Heart

Doreen graduated from the Royal Alexandra Hospital School of Nursing in Edmonton and later completed her BN and MN from the University of Calgary.  During her career in cardiac nursing she has worked as a staff nurse, nurse educator, patient care manager and director of nursing.  She has been a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Heart Centre since 1996.  In this advanced practice role, Doreen provides support to adults with congenital heart disease in the Pacific Adult Congenital Heart Clinic, including the provision of clinical care to patients/families, case management of inpatients, education/counselling of patients, families, nursing and allied staff, program development and research.
