We are proud of our excellent results and patient safety in the Heart Centre. These results are possible because we incorporate research into our daily care. As a University of British Columbia (UBC) teaching hospital, St. Paul’s Heart Centre supports an active and growing research program.
At St. Paul’s Heart Centre, many doctors, nurses and other health professionals conduct research. We collaborate with other researchers from within British Columbia, across Canada and around the world. If you are eligible for one of our many research studies, you may be approached by a research nurse/assistant who will explain the study and ask you if you are willing to participate. Please understand that you are NEVER under any obligation to participate in a research study. The choice is yours, and if you decide not to join a study, your care at the Heart Centre or St. Paul’s Hospital will not be compromised.
